BLOOM CLEAR THE EYESORES
Three large beds on the new Herefordshire Council built link road opposite Hereford railway
station became weed infested and an eyesore to the thousands of visitors arriving in the city
by train. Hereford in Bloom came to the rescue of the abandoned beds and a team of
volunteers spent 200 hours getting rid of the weeds and restoring the beds to top class
condition, planting a 400 selection of shrubs. Bloom already care for the beds and planters
in the city centre and around the city and ensuring plants and shrubs are watered
throughout the summer to prevent them dying. The City Council give a grant to help pay for
the shrubs
